Sharks Punished in Season Opener
The Mossman Sharks A-Grade side is licking its wounds following a shocking start to the 2009 season. The Sharks were outgunned in all aspects of the game by a Brothers team worthy of any competition in Australia. Brothers fielded possibly their strongest team in the last 5 years with several Northern Pride players returning to the club.
Mossman was again unable to secure its signed Pride players due to apparent injuries leaving the club in no position to battle last years premiers.
Reserve Grade suffered a heart breaking last minute loss after leading for most of the game while the U/18s fought a spirited comeback to draw level at full time. The U/18s seem to have benefited from a good preseason having spent it with the senior players. They seem like a very cohesive team with a number of rising stars. They’re bound to be a joy to watch this season.
