Junior Sharks Vs Brothers
Junior Sharks Weekend and Wednesday Round Up
Compliments of newsport.com.au
On Saturday 8th August, the Junior Sharks travelled to Mann Street to take on Brothers and Lightning for an afternoon of fantastic footy.
The Under 7’s played at 1.00pm and due to lots of commitments ended up with only 10 players for the 40 minutes. They did quite well with Derrick Sorensen scoring a full field try in the 3rd and Bronson Ryan running the length of the field to score in the 4th. Brothers however proved a bit stronger than our little fella’s and won with a convincing 7 tries to 2.

Sharks and Tully in nailbiter
After a long trip to Tully, the Mossman Port Douglas Sharks clashed with the Tully Tigers with mixed results. There was no C Grade game so the first game of the night was the Young Guns, the Under 18’s. Even with a couple of key team members absent and after a slow start, the Under 18’s showed great determination to win 24-14.
Sharks Punished in Season Opener
The Mossman Sharks A-Grade side is licking its wounds following a shocking start to the 2009 season. The Sharks were outgunned in all aspects of the game by a Brothers team worthy of any competition in Australia. Brothers fielded possibly their strongest team in the last 5 years with several Northern Pride players returning to the club.
